Pentecost Recap

Yesterday’s community Pentecost at Carlock Christian Church was a blessing. It is encouraging to see Christians from area congregations coming together for worship. Vickie Lannie’s presentation on the importance of hospice care and its challenges was both helpful and moving. The community choir also was in good voice. It was nice to see so many from NDMC present for this service.

Remember that this coming Sunday, June 11th, we will be resuming our SUMMER SCHEDULE. So we will be having our worship service at 9am with our fellowship time immediately following. We are continuing the series on the life of Elijah.

Our community VBS is coming up quickly. VBS will be held June 19-23 from 8:45am-Noon. Our congregation has been invited to provide some needed items including 2 sheets of poster board, empty 16-ounce plastic soda bottles, 2 funnels, yeast, heart-shaped cookie cutters, preschool-friendly puzzles, painter’s tape, etc. There is a complete list on the table in the fellowship hall if you’d like to contribute, or you can contact Brian or Terri for the complete list of needed items. There are also some items that are being asked to be loaned during VBS: a handheld, collapsible fan; a large electric fan; a lantern flashlight; and a leaf blower. If you have one of those items you’d be willing to lend, please let us know.

I will be gone Sunday, June 18th, as I travel with Josanne to a meeting of her company in Las Vegas, and then to a site visit in Northern California. This will be an opportunity to visit some friends who are ministering and living in Las Vegas, and an opportunity for Josanne to take me to some places she has wanted to show me on her travels.

This reminds me that summer becomes a busy time for us with trips, family vacations, kids’ activities, the fair, and the like. Let’s make it a priority to be in worship together when we can. If we aren’t careful, these activities can get us into a habit of missing time with our church family. Our spiritual growth and development is helped so much by the encouragement we receive and we give to one another. We miss you when you aren’t here!

Hope to see you Sunday!

God bless,

Brian
