Kickoff 2023
Yesterday was a nice day all the way around. It was beautiful day outside, and it was nice to resume our Sunday School. After the worship service, a bunch of people worked together in order to assemble school bags for MCC. It was great to see everyone working together for this cause. If you’d like to see more about MCC school kits, I’d encourage you to watch this video. You can read more school kits here at the MCC website as well.
Today is 9/11 and it reminds us of those moments we were all glued to the TV or radio 22 years ago as the unthinkable and unbelievable happened. I’m reminded of how unified we were in the days and weeks that followed. I’m also reminded of the number of people who turned to churches and their faith in that deeply troubling time. Today, take a moment to remember those who lost their lives that day, and try to do something that would be reaching out to someone you might normally reach out to.
Josanne and I want to say thank you for the unexpected gift of flowers in honor of our 35th wedding anniversary. It was very thoughtful and touching. Thank you.
As I mentioned, we will be taking a short trip later this week to celebrate together. I’ll also be gone next Sunday as I’ll be speaking at my home congregation—the Zoah Christian Church in Scottsburg, IN—for their homecoming service. They are celebrating their 170th year this year. Paul Walles is coming to fill the pulpit, so you won’t want to miss that. He always has insightful things to share.
God bless,
Brian
