In Sunday morning worship services, we are continuing our look at the book of Daniel. The stories of Daniel and his three friends are inspiring to me. Next week in Daniel 3 we’ll be look at the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace. How do we respond when the heat is on? The depth of the trust these three young people have in God encourages me to think about my own trust. I have to admit that when things get difficult, it is difficult for me to trust that God will care for me even though he has done it so many times in the past.
Remember that our Sunday School classes are in full swing. Kathy Middleton is leading a women’s Sunday School class studying the book Wounded by God’s People: Discovering How Love Heals Our Hurts by Anne Graham Lotz. The Adult Class is studying the book of Acts and understanding the early Church. The High School class is looking at the message of the books of the Bible. And there are classes for all ages.
I want to make a special invitation for next Sunday at 4pm for our Israel Trip meeting. Josanne and I will be leading a trip to Israel next year from May 31 through June 12. This informational meeting will help answer any questions for those who are interested in going. If you know anyone who you think would be interested in this kind of trip, please let them know!
Also remember than next Sunday is our first last Sunday potluck of the season! Bring a dish to share and be ready for some good fellowship time following our service.
Hope your week has started well!
God bless,
Brian
