The Week Past
There was a great turnout for our wiener roast last night! One person counted 60 in attendance. Lots of good food and fellowship and what a perfect night! The weather was really nice, and then we were treated to both a beautiful sunset in the west and the rising Hunter’s Moon in the east. There was also time for a hayrack ride in the surrounding roads. Many, many thanks for all of those who worked to put this event together. It was so enjoyable.
I’ll share some thoughts on my mind from this past week. I took part in two funerals for two men who were friends and who passed away the same day. One we had been in our prayers for years as he experience pain from his cancer. The other sat down in his recliner with a dog on his lap, fell asleep, and passed away peacefully. It’s a reminder to me that none of us knows when our time will come and none of us can control how we leave this life. It’s important for us to do what we can today. Hold your loved ones a bit closer. If there is something you’ve left undone, can I encourage you to make plans to do it? If there’s something that needs to be said, will you say it? Most importantly at all, make sure you are firm in your relationship with God. He sent us Jesus because of his great love for us and he’s offering us life in his name.
Thanks to James McMillion for again filling the pulpit at last minute so I could travel to Boise for Brian Robinson’s funeral. From the reports I heard last night, he did a great job!
Assuming nothing happens, I should be with you all next Sunday. I hope to see you there and bring along a friend as well.
God bless, Brian
