175th Anniversary Celebration

Wow! It would be impossible to describe in words the many blessings of this past weekend. What a remarkable time! Yesterday’s worship service was packed—both the pews and our worship time. If you missed any of this weekend’s services, I’d encourage you to go and watch them. Elizabeth Miller’s Sunday School class on Global Anabaptism was superb. All of the parts of yesterday’s worship service—Rich Bucher (Joseph Stuckey) and John Stuckey; Jamie Mailhot’s solo; our instrumentalists, including Janelle Metzger; our communion time; Doug Luginbill’s prayer and blessing; and Mark Vincent’s moving sermon—all of them worked together to make it such a special day. It will be one that we remember for a long, long time.

I want to say one more thank you to the committee who worked so hard to put the weekend together—Craig and Twila Eickhorst, Brenda Miller, Cala Laible, Deb Hubbard, and Nancy Dennis. Thank you so much again for your hard work. But there were so, so many others who volunteered and we appreciate you all. There’s no way to mention you all, but those who cleaned, baked, moved furniture, set up and manned booths, donated item, I could go on and on, but it took all of us working together to pull off this great weekend. Thank you all so much!

Next Sunday concludes our series through Ephesians. The sermon is titled “Shoulder to Shoulder.” I thought it would be appropriate to talk about our strong need for one another after this weekend when we have reflected so much on those who have worked together to make sure that we have this community of worship that means so much to us.
