Make Plans

We’ve got some really great events coming up. Next week is Labor Day, and the week after that is our 175th Anniversary Celebration. I’m grateful for the many volunteers who have worked together to make this weekend special! Make sure to attend and also to invite others who you think would want to participate.

Your RSVPs for the Friday night, September 11th, banquet at 6:30pm need to be in by next Sunday, September 6th. In the service which follows the meal, Elizabeth Miller will be introducing our weekend and then we’ll have a very special presentation by historian Dr. Perry Bush. You won’t want to miss it!

Saturday, September 12th, we will be putting together school bags in the morning as a service project. In the afternoon from 2-5pm there will be a Reunion and Open House with lots of chance to interact with members present and past. There will be a historical display, and Refreshments will be served during this time. Joseph Stuckey (Rich Bucher)will be wandering around  as well as John Stuckey who is a historian descended from Joseph Stuckey.

Sunday, September 13th, will begin with a Sunday School time taught by Elizabeth Miller at 9am. Then at 10:10am our worship service will include some words from both Joseph Stuckey (Rich Bucher) and John Stuckey. We will celebrate the Lord’s Supper together, and then Dr. Mark Vincent will be bringing our message. After the service we will be taking a congregational photo—so you don’t want to miss!

Next Sunday, September 6th, our text is Ephesians 5:21-6:9 on the issue of submission. We usually don’t like to talk much about submission, but it’s a necessary part of our life in community with one another. I hope to see you here at 9am. Invite along a friend or two as well!

God bless,

Brian
