Josanne and I send greetings from La Plata, Argentina! We hope and pray everything went well yesterday during the worship service. We haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, since we’ve been very busy here.
Our travel went smoothly, but we were very tired when we arrived. Our hosts, Randy and Valeria (and their three children Mia, Noah, and Oliver) have been taking good care of us. Josanne did experience some sickness in her first few days here, but is feeling much better now. I would ask that you pray for continued good health as we have a busy schedule.
Randy, Valeria, and their youngest son, Oliver, took us into downtown La Plata to see the beautiful cathedral there. I’ve attached a picture of us in front of the cathedral. During the week, I’ve been doing teaching with the team of leaders that Randy has put together here. Last Saturday I was able to do some teaching about the missional shape of the Gospel of John in one of the churches here. It was well-attended with 50 or more in attendance for the 4-hour class. We’ll be completing that class next Saturday. Yesterday, I preached at this same church with Randy translating. I’ll try to send a picture of this as well. Last night after a Sunday evening small group at the home of one of Randy’s leaders, we watched the Super Bowl in his backyard projected on a big screen. It’s been a busy week and we’re looking forward to another busy one to come.
Argentinian Spanish is somewhat different from Dominican Spanish and I haven’t had much practice over the past 12 years, but I’m understanding more and more everyday, and some of my ability is coming back. Josanne and I both miss you and ask for your on-going prayers.
Dios los bendiga. God bless you all,
Brian
