Argentina, Week 2

I hope all is going well there. Here in Argentina, Josanne and I have had another busy week. I’ve done another week of training with the leadership team. On Saturday, I led the second half of the Seminar on the Gospel of John at the church building. We had a good turnout and people really responded well to the workshop.
Last Friday, Randy and Valeria, and their daughter took us on a trip to Buenos Aires. There was lots to see, but one of the highlights was an old theater that has been converted into a huge bookstore. I’ve included a picture of that.
Yesterday morning began with a thunderstorm, but then it ended with Josanne and I attending a weekly Bible study that Randy leads in the home of another couple on the leadership team, Diego and Paola. I’ve included a picture of Randy leading this
study.
Today we will be attending a day that the church here calls Happy Day (the use the English words). It’s strange to think about, but it marks the end of Summer here before the kids return to school. As the days are getting longer and warmer there in Danvers, the days are getting shorter and cooler here in La Plata. As we finished our prayers last night at the Bible study, the sun was setting and the colors were beautiful. I’m sharing a picture of the sunset from Diego and Paola’s backyard.
I heard the chili cookoff went well last night and the winner was Alec Novakow! Congratulations to him!
Josanne and I will be starting our journey back on Wednesday, arriving in Bloomington on Thursday. I’d appreciate prayers for our trip—that all goes smoothly. We’ll try to gather some pictures and have a time to talk through our trip and the work that is taking place down here after we get back.
We miss you all and are praying for you there.
Dios los bendiga, God bless you all,
Brian (and Josanne)
