Busy Times

This whole series we’ve been in during our worship services have focused on what it means to live our lives together as followers of Jesus. This past week was a lived-out example of the way we work together and depend upon one another.

A big thank you to all of those who helped as we prepared for the ice cream social at the Danvers’ Band Concert. Thanks to those who baked pies and other goodies. Thanks to those who volunteered to serve in other ways as well.

This past week we saw in Ephesians 2:11-22 that we are called to unity as Christians, but it is unity for a purpose! In our unity, people will be able to see in us the truth that God sent his Son into the world to make us into a new kind of community. When we sow disunity and promote controversies, it works against the unity we are called to.

Next week, we will see the way the Spirit of God not only binds us into one body, but also empowers us to accomplish God’s purpose in us.

A reminder that in two weeks we will be gathering at the Funks Grove chapel with the Presbyterian Church for a joint service. Afterwards, we will have a potluck picnic in the pavilion there. The meat will be provided, so bring a side, a salad, or a dessert. This is always a really nice time, so I encourage you to attend.

Let me remind you that it takes all of us working together to accomplish God’s purposes in our congregation. You are needed and you are wanted to take part!

I hope to see you Sunday and invite someone else to come along!

God bless,

Brian
