Yesterday was a really nice day to honor some recent graduates with a reception. Congratulations to Samantha Boschulte on her graduation last December with a BS in Zoology. She’s currently doing working at the Decatur zoo. Congratulations also to Quincy Boschulte for receiving her doctorate in Occupational Therapy. She’s going to be focused on studying to pass her boards now. Congratulations also to those others with family members who graduated. These are important milestones worthy of recognition.

Did last week’s wind and storms cause you any problems? At least a few of us experienced some kind of damage. I came home Thursday night from meetings at North Danvers to siding blown off the West side of our shop. I know James Mailhot also experienced some damage out on his farm.

Of course, none of it was as bad as the series of tornadoes over the weekend that tore through Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. At least 19 people died in the storms in Kentucky with 28 the current death toll for all of the states. One of the organizations I have mentioned in the past International Disaster Emergency Service (IDES) has already begun their response. You can read about it here.

Next week we’ll be talking about worship from 2 Samuel 6. There are two strange stories in this chapter, but both of them teach us something about what it means to come into the presence of God. It’s a privilege to worship a God who hears our prayers and our praise, but it should never been anything we approach lightly.

Who are you planning to invite to come with you to our worship service next week? No one? It’s not too late to think about who that might be. Hope to see you there!

God bless, Brian
