There was lots of activity going on this past weekend! Pie baking on Saturday and the Danvers Band Concert on Sunday. A big thank you goes out to all of those who helped in a variety of ways. Thanks to those who helped with the pies. Thanks to those who donated items or loaded them up at the church building or unloaded them. Thanks to those who took a shift at the ice cream social. And thanks to those who loaded up again and brought things back to the church building. As they say, many hands make light work. We are thankful for everyone’s help.
We finished the 2 Samuel series yesterday during our worship service by looking at “David’s Final Words” in 2 Samuel 22 and 23. We’ll be starting in 1 Thessalonians next week and will be looking at what that book teaches us about the gospel. 1 Thessalonians 1:4-5a reads, “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction,” (NIV). What does it mean that the gospel has power? Why is that important for us to understand the power of the gospel?
I wanted to mention how beautiful the flowers have been over the past several weeks. Thanks to all of those who have donated them. There are still opportunities to provide flowers. The sign up sheet is in the fellowship hall. We also still need some volunteers to read Scripture.
Invite a friend to come with you on Sunday. Hope to see you there!
God bless, Brian
