What a great day yesterday! James McMillion brought an excellent sermon. If you didn’t get a chance to hear it, can I recommend you to our Facebook page and listen to it now? I will warn you though—it was very moving and convicting. Thanks so much to James for being willing to fill the pulpit. It was nice to see his family, too. We had a really solid crowd on Sunday. Let me encourage you again to invite your friends to come along with you.

The early chapters of 2 Samuel are not pleasant reading. There is vengeance and bloodshed. There is a country divided and intrigue. Can I ask you to hang in there, though? Here’s the reason: in a few weeks we’ll be looking at what I consider one of the three most important passages in the entire Old Testament. We need to understand where David and the people of Israel were for that passage to make sense. I think the pay-off will be worth it.

Josanne and I had a good visit with our daughter, Bethany, in DC. We appreciate the prayers and those who filled in during our absence.

I was hoping we were done with colder weather, but it was quite chilly when I left the house this morning. Spring has to be coming, right?

Hope to see you Sunday!

God bless, Brian
