What a great day yesterday! We had a really good crowd come out to Funk’s Grove for our worship service and the potluck that followed. Good worship and good fellowship! Thanks to all who contributed to the service. Special thanks to those coordinated the food and helped put the service together.
Another reminder than this coming Sunday will be another special worship service connected to Danvers Days. We’ll be meeting at 10am in the Danvers’ park for worship. We’ll be connecting with the Presbyterian Church again and other congregations and people from the community. I really hope you’ll come and join us. There will be an opportunity to have brunch afterwards as well.
On August 24th we’ll have a very special speaker from one of the missions we support—Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission. John Fumana from the Democratic Republic of the Congo will be here to speak and you won’t want to miss his message. He will also be sharing more about the mission in a special fellowship time following the service.
Just a quick reminder of the importance of Living in Faith from yesterday’s sermon. In Hebrews 11:8, we read, “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going,” (NIV). Our faith is demonstrated in our willingness to obey God, even when we can’t see the end in sight. We continue to take a step at a time as we obey his will.
Hope you are doing well today and I hope to see you soon.
God bless, Brian
