King David

Yesterday we began our series in 2 Samuel by looking at David’s lament after the death of Saul and David. The repeated refrain in that song is “How the Mighty Have Fallen!” When we think about the Kings of Israel it’s a reminder that even the best of earthly, human rulers will have an end. Thankfully, though this points us toward King Jesus and his eternal rule.

Next Sunday, Josanne and I will be back from visiting Bethany in Washington, DC, but I’ve asked James McMillion to prepare the sermon next week. He’ll be continuing this series by looking at 2 Samuel 2-3. James is a great preacher. You’ll want to make sure to come out next Sunday to hear him.

Josanne and I will be flying to DC on Tuesday and back on Saturday. Any prayers for safe and swift travel would be appreciated.

I meant to mention the flowers in the front of the sanctuary yesterday, but I forgot. I’m not sure who brought them, but thanks so much! They were beautiful.

Remember to pray for our farmers. I’ve seen quite a few out in the fields over the past days.

Have a great week and I hope to see you Sunday!

God bless, Brian
