After our potluck yesterday, we had a presentation from Michael Berlinger and his son Stephen of Heritage Restoration and Design Studio (Peoria, IL). Because he was late in arriving, some people needed to leave and so were unable to hear the presentation. We recorded the audio/visual, so if you’d like to view that you can contact either Terri or me. We can provide a link to those who’d like to see it, or if you don’t have a way to download it, we will bring a physical copy you can play on your computer. Just let us know. I found the presentation helpful and I understand the process better after hearing him speak. They also left some written material behind that would be helpful to look through.
Remember that in two weeks (October 12th) we will have a meeting after our worship service to vote on whether or not to form a task force to look into having repair work done on our stained glass windows. This vote is not a go-ahead to have the repair work done. The task force will have the responsibility of looking at various ways to fund such a project (grants, individual gifts, fund raisers, etc.), and to think through the best way to proceed with the work. After their research, then they will come back to the congregation with a proposal of whether or not we should proceed with the work.
Speaking of the potluck, what a nice amount and selection of food. It is such a blessing to be able to spend time together in this way on a regular basis. Our next potluck is scheduled for October 26th. Before that, we will be having a wiener roast on Sunday, October 12th as well. Make sure to sign up and be on the lookout for more details.
Next week is World Communion Sunday (October 5th), so we will be celebrating the Lord’s Supper together during our worship service. I hope you’ll join us for this special service, if you are able to attend. If you are planning to live stream the service, I encourage you to prepare elements at home so you are able to participate with us.
God bless you all,
Brian
