We Need One Another

It was so nice to have the First Presbyterian Church of Danvers join us for our morning worship service! We continued our series through Ephesians. The series title is “Life Together.” Too many times, we think of our faith as a personal, individual part of our life. Instead, the Scriptures make clear our faith is something we hold together. Yesterday we saw that God’s grace is extended to his people, as a community. Next week, we’ll see the way that God works through us as we work together for his purpose.
We also had the second Q and A session with our Stained Glass Window Task Force. We want to thank them again for all of their hard work and the many hours (and many miles!) they put into this project. There is information elsewhere about where you can access the video of the Q and A session online.
I thought I’d throw in this interesting historical tidbit that one of the team members discovered while going through our archives. The decision was made to put brick around the building and to add the stained glass windows at the same time. The year was 1917 when this work was completed. Services were not held in the building for an entire year while this work was completed. The members of North Danvers were encouraged to attend the Presbyterian Church while the work was being done! It illustrates the long history of cooperation between our two congregations.
There are sign-ups for pie baking and the ice cream social of the Band Concert. Don’t forget to find out a way you can help out.
I hope to see you Sunday. Think about who you can ask to come along with you!
God bless, Brian
