Danvers Band Concert 2021

Last night was a great night for the Danvers Band concert. There was good weather, the band sounded great, there was a special guest ensemble that played during the intermission, and what a crowd! A big thank you is owed to ALL of the many who worked together to make North Danvers’ food and ice cream social a success. Thanks to those who baked, cooked, and prepared. Thanks to those who loaded, set up, and unloaded. Thanks to those who served and who cleaned up. A special thanks to Steve Eickhorst who did a lot of the planning and coordination and a lot of the hands-on work as well.

Seems like there’s a lot going on right now. Some people are suffering with health issues. Others are dealing with difficulties within their families. Some of us are feeling pressure from a number of different responsibilities. I know first-hand that it’s very easy to become discouraged. I want to share a couple of verses that the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Rome. “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer,” (Romans 12:11-12, NIV). There is a good recipe in those short verses to help in times of discouragement. Being joyful in hope means that we realize even when things are bad, for the believer they won’t always be this way. Being patient in affliction means waiting even in the middle of our difficulties for things to work out, and trusting they will. And of course, in all things we faithful pray to God who hears our prayer. It’s easy to become discouraged, I know, but let’s seek to keep our flames of spiritual fervor lit.

Continuing to pray for you all.

God bless, Brian
