I hope all of the Mothers in our congregation had a good Mothers’ Day, yesterday. The flowers decorating our sanctuary were beautiful once more. Thanks to those who provided them.
I said yesterday that I know these first few chapters of 2 Samuel have been difficult, but we have a few interesting topics coming up. Next week, we’ll be talking about Jerusalem. We know that Jerusalem is important throughout the pages of the Old Testament and the New Testament, but 2 Samuel 5 tells the story of why it began to be important.
In two weeks we’ll be looking at a couple of lesser-known stories both of which have to do with the way that we worship. Then in three weeks we’ll be look at 2 Samuel 7, which contains what I think is one of the most important passages in the entire Old Testament.
Don’t forget that we are celebrating our graduates this coming Sunday with a reception. It’s quiet around the office this morning as GLAPS has finished up for the year. In a few weeks, we’ll be changing to our summer schedule as well. It’s that time of year with lots of transitions taking place!
I hope you continue to think of friends and neighbors that you can invite to come to the worship service with you. And I hope to see you Sunday!
God bless, Brian
