The Sun Stood Still
There are different opinions about what exactly took place as is recorded in Joshua 10. Here’s the thing I can be sure of—it’s an account of how God helped the Israelites in ways that were beyond their comprehension. Part of what it means to trust in God is to trust that he will care for us no matter how beyond our understanding that care might be shown. I sometimes underestimate God. But when we begin to consider the things that he has already done for us—especially what he has done for us through Jesus—God has moved heaven and earth for us.
I guess here’s the message I want us to get. Don’t become discouraged. Don’t think that the way things are now, they will always be. Trust that God is at work in our Church, in our families, and in our lives.
Less than two weeks now until our outdoor service on June 6. You might want to be praying for good weather! Remember that we will also be having our delayed annual meeting after the service with some outside refreshments. Bring your own chair, if you like. We will have some chairs set up if you forget, or don’t want to bring your own.
Continue to remember those who are in need of our prayers and our compassion.
God bless, Brian
