E-gram March 30, 2015
I'm excited to see a team I cheer for make it to the NCAA final four. I cheer for a lot of teams.
None of them compare to the organizations I work with, and my cheering for them as they pursue the mission they feel called to touch.
None of them compare to cheering for my children as they build their lives.
And none of that can even begin to touch my deep affection for what puts all this into motion for me - the work of Christ to introduce and make available the kingdom of God.
During Holy Week, we provide a number of settings to bring yourself and your households to recall that which matters most - more than summer lake parties, more than planning your next vacation, more than worrying about how the markets are doing, more than the next project you need to complete, and EVEN MORE than Kentucky's forthcoming loss to Wisconsin (at least I hope).
Come to worship and to honor the Christ, the Son of the Living God, our returning King.
Here is the schedule of events. I look forward to seeing you there.
Maundy Thursday
A family-oriented worship service that reminds us of the Last Supper and Jesus' prayer in the garden and trial. Food is served as you arrive at 6:00 p.m.
Good Friday
The community Good Friday service will be held at 7:00 p.m. At Danvers Presbyterian Church. I will serve as the preacher this year and a community choir will sing.
Easter Morning - 7:30 a.m.
A Sonrise Prayer Service will be held outdoors (weather permitting) with a light breakfast to follow.
Easter 10:10 am
A Celebration Service featuring the NDMC Choir and the reception of new church members.
