Evidence of God’s Faithfulness

The countryside is aflame with the colors of fall. The leaves are turning. In the early mornings the frost and the fog are making their appearance. This is reminiscent of the opening line of a poem from one of my favorite poets, Gerard Manley Hopkins:

“The world is charged with the grandeur of God.

It will flame out, like shining from shook foil. . . .”

The changing of the seasons is one of the many ways we are able to see evidence of God’s faithfulness. God promised to Noah:

“As long as the earth endures,

seedtime and harvest,

cold and heat,

summer and winter,

day and night

will never cease.” (Genesis 8:22, NIV 2011)

When we experience the change of seasons, it reminds us again that God keeps his promises.

Have you seen God keeping his promises in your life? One of the beautiful things about the Christian community is that we can testify to one another and remind one another of God’s faithfulness to his promises. This is also the reason we continue to meet together to encourage one another (Hebrews 10:25). Make a point this week to share a story of God’s faithfulness with someone else. It will remind you of God’s faithfulness and it will be an encouragement to someone else.

If you want to read Hopkins entire poem, “God Grandeur,” you can read it or hear it read if you click here

God bless,

Brian
