Annual Meeting 2023
Yesterday during our annual meeting, we were able to look back at 2022. It was a good reminder of the number of people and the hours of effort that it takes to continue the mission of North Danvers Mennonite Church. I would like to take the opportunity to say thank you once again to all of those who make a special effort to do the things necessary to keep North Danvers moving forward smoothly. I would remind you as well, if you are looking for a place to serve, there are many opportunities to do so.
For my devotional thought, I focused on the idea of faithful service. Those who came before us saw a need for a Christian community in this place. They faithfully built that community and those who came behind them faithfully continued that work. Now it is our responsibility to be faithful with what we have been given and to challenge the next generation to take up the challenge to continue this work. We build on the foundation of Jesus Christ which has been laid (1 Corinthians 3:10-15).
Next week we’ll be looking at Mark 5 during the worship service. We’ll focus especially on the healing of the woman and the raising of Jairus’ daughter in the last half of the chapter. It’s a good reminder to us that the one we follow is capable of restoring and healing what might seem impossible to be made right and of making even that which is dead alive. My encouragement is to continue to place your faith and trust in Jesus.
God bless,
Brian
