Holy Week

What a joy it was yesterday to see the young people parading into the sanctuary with palm fronds waving. They then blessed us with special music. We are certainly thankful for the young people that are a part of our congregation. We are also thankful for those who lead our young people. This is the way our Holy Week celebrations began.

Remember that we will be celebrating Maundy Thursday together in the Fellowship Hall starting at 6pm. Families are encouraged to come and participate. There will be a light meal, and we will also be sharing in the Lord’s Supper together.

The community Good Friday will be here at North Danvers this year. The service begins at 7pm. There will be a community choir number, and a dramatic reading. I will be bringing the message this year. I hope that we have a good representation from NDMC.

Next Sunday we will have a Sunrise Service beginning at 8:30am. This service will be held outdoors and on the South end of the West parking lot. There will be a few chairs set up, but feel free to bring a lawn chair if you’d like to. Also, make sure to pay attention to the weather and bundle up if you need to. Immediately following this service, we’ll be coming into the Fellowship Hall for our fellowship time. There will be no Sunday School next Sunday. Our worship service will be at 10:10am and then we’ll be dismissed with no fellowship time following. Make sure to invite your friends and family!

I could not help but think as we heard the news out of Egypt yesterday how blessed we are to be able to meet without fear of violence. Let’s be in pray for our brothers and sisters in Egypt as they celebrate this important week as well. Let’s also focus upon the true hope that comes through the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Finally, let’s not take for granted the ability we have to gather for worship. If our fellow Christians in Egypt can continue to meet given the hatred they face, certainly we should not neglect gathering together.

I love you all and I look forward to these special times together.

God bless,

Brian
