Yesterday was Harvest Mission Sunday at North Danvers. We heard about one of the missions we support, Midwest Food Bank. Mike Hoffman, the Senior Director of Operations there, gave us an update about the work that Midwest Food Bank is doing in response to the hurricanes which affected Texas and Florida earlier this year. Mike encouraged us to think about what we can do to make a difference, not only with our monetary support, but also through our prayers, and by volunteering our time.
There are many opportunities for you to serve here at North Danvers. Last Friday, a group of eight people from North Danvers served a meal at Safe Harbor Mission. The people there really enjoyed the chili and hot dogs that were served. Over 100 people were served due to the work of those who volunteered. Thank you to those who served for your work and special thanks to Tracy Rennie for organizing this.
As we draw closer to Thanksgiving and Advent, it’s a time of year that that we think about generosity. Let’s pay attention to those around us who have needs, or that we can make a difference in their lives.
It’s also a great time to invite people to our worship services. Think about those you know who don’t have a church home, but might be interested in celebrating this special time of year with us.
God bless, Brian
