The Year Ahead 2019
Although I’m currently dealing with a chest cold and losing my voice, I am certainly optimistic for the year ahead to North Danvers Mennonite Church. We have been able to work together to accomplish some significant improvements to the building during the last year. I’m excited to see the blessings that the year to come will bring. It’s always true though that there will be challenges as well.
I encourage you to commit yourself to praying for NDMC and its leaders in the year to come. I would also encourage you to think of ways that you can be involved. There are plenty of places where you can use your gifts and talents to serve others within our congregation. As I’ve always said, we are at our healthiest when every member is doing his or her part. Think and pray about what God is calling you to do.
I’ve asked both our Ministry Team and our Church Board to think about where they believe God is directing our congregation. That discernment was necessary during the last pastoral call. After 3+ years I think it’s time again to assess what we see God calling us to as a congregation. I would invite everyone to ask God to make his direction clear.
Remember our annual meeting which will be coming up on January 27. We will have our regular, end of the month potluck with our business meeting following.
Remember that we’ve just begun a series called “Jesus Does” during our worship service. We’ll be focusing on the actions of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. Our Adult Sunday School will also be focused on the Gospel of Mark, so I invite you to come and participate.
I know I’m not the only one suffering with the stuff that’s going around this time of year. I continue to pray for each of you. I pray that the year to come is full of health, prosperity, and God’s blessing.
Love you all, Brian
