Times of Grief

Most of you likely will have heard by now that Josanne’s Mom passed away Saturday evening in Lexington, KY. We are still with her family in Eastern Kentucky today. We don’t know any of the arrangements yet, but will try to post them when they are available.
Many in our church family have experienced loss in the past year. These times of grief are difficult, and they aren’t for a short time. The effects of these losses linger. Someone has said that grieving is a testimony to the love that we have for our family and friends. These times remind us that Jesus himself experienced grief, and even wept at the graveside of his close friend. Our faith, though, also reminds us that Jesus’ resurrection gives us hope and is the promise of death being ultimately defeated.
It’s time like these that you are acutely aware of the support of your church family, so thank you so much for all of the prayers and kind words that you have sent. Thanks also for the understanding for the times I’ve had to be away from the office to support Josanne. We truly appreciate all of you. Thanks also to those who were able to help out with the worship service yesterday as well.
You can find the upcoming events elsewhere in this E-gram.
My expectation is to be there on Sunday. It’s good when we come together as brothers and sisters in worship and fellowship. It’s encouraging to me. I’m looking forward to being there with you. I hope to see you there as well!
God bless,
Brian
