This past week was an incredibly busy one, but there were many blessings. The service on Maundy Thursday was well-attended and a meaningful service enjoyed by those who were in attendance. There are many who worked hard to make it a reality. I can’t mention everyone who helped, but I did want to say a thank you to Cala and Marybeth for working hard on the décor. Thanks also to Josanne, Jamie, Natalie, and Craig for doing the readings that were at the very heart of the service. Great job!
We had a good crowd for Easter Sunday. We started with a great breakfast—thank you to all who made casseroles and who served. Thank you to Jamie for directing our choir and again thank you to our decorating crew made the sanctuary just beautiful. I hope you had a meaningful Easter and some time with family and friends as well.
This coming Sunday will begin our new series in 2 Samuel. The title of the first sermon is “How the Mighty Have Fallen,” as we consider David’s response to the news of the death of Saul and Jonathon.
Last week was very busy, but things won’t be slowing down for me for at least a couple more weeks. This Friday and Saturday I’ll be traveling up to Camp Friedenswald for a CDC board meeting. Then a week from tomorrow, Josanne and I are traveling out to DC to spend some time with our daughter, Bethany. We will be back on Sunday, May 4th, but I’ve asked James McMillion to fill our pulpit once again on that day.
Hope you have a great day and a wonderful week.
God bless, Brian
