Rejoice in Good Times and Bad
It’s been quite the busy weekend. We have families who are experiencing the loss of loved ones. Many are involved in VBS this week. There seems to be so much going on. A simple reminder that both in good times and bad, we are called to rejoice. Paul wrote, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus,” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, NIV). We are called to give thanks in all circumstances. It is amazing to see the way that God works, even in the difficult places in our lives.
Remember that next week we will not be meeting at the church building, but will instead be meeting in the Danvers Park for an end of VBS service. I hope you’ll make a point to attend and support the young people in the community as well as the many volunteers it requires to run the Vacation Bible School.
I also want to say a big thank you for the many who serve in our congregation. Between the funeral dinners, and keeping up the mowing and the appearance of the landscaping, and the longer term maintenance on the building and grounds, it takes all of us working together to make it all happen. Thank you so much.
God bless, Brian
